Winner's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Winner's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1/2cup  butter, softened 
1/2cup  shortening 
3/4cup  packed brown sugar 
3/4cup  granulated sugar 
1tsp.  baking soda 
2eggs 
2tsp.  vanilla 
2 1/2cups  flour 
112-oz.  pkg. semi-sweet or white chocolate pieces or 1 (11.5-oz.) pkg. chocolate chunks 
1cup  chopped nuts (optional) 

Directions

Preheat oven to 375ºF. In a large mixing bowl beat together butter and shortening. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar and baking soda. Beat with an electric mixer until well combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with mixer. Stir in remaining flour, chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
