Coat grill with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium indirect heat. If desired, cut ribs into serving-size pieces. Sprinkle evenly with garlic pepper. Spread onion on meaty side of ribs.
Place ribs, bone side down, on grill. Grill, covered, 1 hour or until ribs are tender. Remove onion and turn once. Meanwhile, blend remaining ingredients in small bowl.
Brush ribs with marinade mixture. Grill, covered, 15 to 30 minutes or until ribs are at least 160°F in thickest part and sauce is set; turn and brush once or twice. Drizzle with any remaining marinade mixture.
