Shrimp and Pasta with Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

2tsp.  olive oil 
1/4cup  chopped onion 
3cloves garlic, chopped 
1 (28-oz.) can crushed tomatoes 
1tsp.  dried basil 
1tsp.  salt 
Dash black pepper 
8oz.  angel hair pasta 
1lb.  large shrimp, peeled and deveined 
Fresh parsley (optional) 

Directions

Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion; cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic; cook about 30 seconds. Add tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions.
Gently stir shrimp into tomato sauce; cook 2 to 3 minutes more, or until shrimp are pink.
Drain pasta; transfer to serving bowl. Top with shrimp marinara. Garnish with parsley, if desired.
