Montreal-Marinated Sirloin Steak

Montreal-Marinated Sirloin Steak

Ingredients

1.71-oz.  pkg. Montreal steak marinade
1tsp.  lemon pepper
1tsp.  thyme, crushed
1/2tsp.  garlic powder
11 1/2-lb.  boneless sirloin steak
1tbsp.  olive oil

Directions

In small bowl combine marinade, lemon pepper, thyme and garlic powder.
Rub steak with olive oil. Place in resealable plastic bag; add spice mixture. Seal to close; shake to coat evenly. Refrigerate 1 hour or overnight.
Preheat broiler. Place steak on rack in broiler pan. Broil 6 inches from heat to desired doneness (145°F for medium-rare, 160°F for medium, or 170°F for well done), turning once. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
*Marinate time extra
Note: The marinade ensures flavorful, tender results. Good quality beef is bright red and shiny. It is firm and springy to the touch. Store beef in the coldest part of the refrigerator for 3 days. Beef may be frozen in airtight foil for up to 6 months. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave just prior to preparation. Remove excess fat. Dry beef thoroughly or it will not brown.
