Cheddar Topped Green Beans

Ingredients

2 to 3tbsp.  butter or margarine 
1medium onion, chopped 
1clove garlic, minced 
4cups  fresh green beans, trimmed 
1/4cup  sour cream 
2tbsp.  mayonnaise 
1tsp.  paprika 
1cup  shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large sauce pan, bring 1-inch water to boiling. Place green beans in a steamer basket and carefully place basket in saucepan. Cover with a tight fitting lid; steam for 5 to 7 minutes, or until tender.
In large skillet, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 5 minutes or until onion is tender. Add green beans. Stir in sour cream and mayonnaise and cook 3 minutes.
Place green bean mixture in lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Return to oven and bake 5 minutes more or until cheese is melted.
