Beef Barbecued Ribs

Ingredients

18-oz.  can tomato sauce 
2tbsp.  brown sugar 
2tbsp.  lemon juice 
1tbsp.  Worcestershire sauce 
1tbsp.  finely chopped onion 
1/2 to 1tsp.  crushed red pepper flakes 
4lb.  meaty beef ribs 

Directions

For sauce, in a small saucepan combine tomato sauce, 1/4 cup water, brown sugar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, onion and red pepper flakes. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes, stirring once or twice. Remove from heat.
Preheat grill to medium and prepare for indirect cooking. Cut ribs into 8 serving-size pieces. Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper to taste. Grill ribs, bone side down and covered, 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours or until tender, brushing occasionally with sauce the last 30 minutes of grilling.
Reheat any remaining sauce and serve with ribs.
