Caramel Apple Bread Pudding

Ingredients


116-oz.  day-old loaf French bread, cubed 
212-oz.  cans evaporated milk 
3/4cup  water 
4eggs, lightly beaten 
2large apples, peeled, cored and chopped 
1cup  raisins 
1 1/2cups  sugar 
4tbsp.  vanilla extract 
2tbsp.  butter or margarine, melted 
3/4cup  chopped pecans (optional) 
1tsp.  ground cinnamon 
Bottled caramel sauce (optional) 
 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking dish; set aside.
  2. Stir together bread cubes, evaporated milk and 3/4 cup water in large bowl; stir in eggs, blending well. Stir in apples, raisins, sugar, vanilla and butter, blending well. Stir in pecans, if desired. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until set. To serve, drizzle with caramel sauce, if desired.
