Beef and Pasta Bolognese

Ingredients


1lb.  lean ground beef 
3slices bacon, chopped 
1/2cup  each chopped onion and carrot 
126-oz.  jar marinara sauce 
1/4cup  half-and-half or light cream 
10oz.  corkscrew or other pasta, cooked and drained 
1/4cup  grated Parmesan cheese (optional) 
 

Directions

  1. In 4-quart Dutch oven cook ground beef, bacon, onion and carrot until beef is brown. Drain off fat.
  2. Stir in marinara sauce. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in half-and-half.
  3. Serve over hot cooked pasta. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
