Our Commitment to the Planet
Stonyfield Farm got its start as an organic farming school, which means they’ve been caring for the planet for longer than they’ve been making yogurt. Today, their organic ingredient purchases keep over 50,000 farm acres free of toxic, persistent pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
To help reduce global warming, Stonyfield Farm offsets all of the C02 emissions they generate from facility energy use. They also started a nonprofit called “Climate Counts” which shows people how they can help fight climate change by the way they shop and invest.
With a solar array on the roof of their Yogurt Works, Stonyfield generates some of the clean renewable energy to make their yogurt. Through reuse and recycling programs, they prevent hundreds of tons of waste from reaching landfills and incinerators each year. And, they give 10% of their profits to efforts that help protect and restore the earth.

Stonyfield Farm products are certified organic by QAI through an intensive auditing process that tracks our ingredients from farm to cup.  If every Wal-Mart consumer were to buy 1 pack of YoBaby (200 million packs), it would be enough demand for organic milk to convert 100,000 more acres to meet organic standards, which means we would protect that land from toxic, persistent pesticides and chemical fertilizer, among other things.

Stonyfield Farm’s mission lives from the inside out. All of its employees are centered on it and our Mission Action Plan was formed to continue to make progress in how we do business on this planet.
